Celebrating Our First Home
Welcome friends and family! This is our first big milestone together. Even though we’ve already moved states, walked through seasons of loss and new life, this moment feels extra special, and we’re so excited to share it with you.
As most of you know, children aren't in the plan for us, maybe not even pets anytime soon, and a wedding is still far on the horizon. So this is truly the first celebration we get to invite you into!
As we step toward our very first home, it means so much to be surrounded by the love and support of our friends and family. If you feel led to bless us with something for our home, we would be forever grateful. More than anything, we love the idea of filling our space with pieces that remind us of the people who mean the most to us!

Katherine graduates from Ohio University and a few weeks later, leaves her home state by moving to Alabama.
While Kate was deep in Craft Beer Fridays, Ladonus was on his own path working on the road… until their worlds unexpectedly collided.
Katherine and Ladonus meet through Waitr and mutual friends, kicking off a relationship neither of them saw coming.
The two take their first big step together, moving to Asheville, NC and starting a new chapter side by side as Ladonus leaves his home state.
Ready for more opportunity, Katherine and Ladonus head to Greenville, SC to grow their careers and continue their renting journey.
Life settles in as Katherine and Ladonus embrace new routines, milestones, and personal growth together.
Ladonus proposes to Katherine at their townhome, with her mom and Nana there to share in the moment.
Kate and Ladonus ring in a new decade, celebrating her 30th birthday.
Ladonus purchases his second Subaru after a driver totaled his first, an unfortunate reset.
And then, the big one… Kate and Ladonus purchase their FIRST HOME together, turning years of memories into something permanent.
A full-circle moment: Katherine hits 10 years outside of Ohio, her and Ladonus celebrate their 15-year high school reunion, Star Wars turns 50, and life keeps moving forward… together.
We Need Your Tips & Tricks!
Well, we have absolutely no idea how to keep a house alive. Is the advice to new homeowners just “good luck and keep it breathing?" We’re hoping there’s more to it!
Instead of buying Home Maintenance for Dummies, we’d love any tips or tricks you can share: how to coexist in a new space, tackle DIY projects, start a garden, figure out why property tax even exists, or maybe just keep the leaves exactly where they belong.
Or, if you’ve got a cute note or a funny story from your first home, we’d love to hear that too. Any advice or help with our renovation fund, big or small, is greatly appreciated!
A Decade In The Making
The Force is Strong With This One
We’ve come a long way since 2019. From starting our relationship, to making the move to Greenville in 2021, to finally beginning the home search in September 2023, this has been a journey built over time.
We toured our first homes and townhomes on Valentine’s Day with Mary Allison Zimmerman, Realtor. After seeing around 15 in total, we quickly learned what we wanted and what we didn’t. Then on March 12th, we walked into this home and instantly knew it felt right. Less than a week later, we were under contract after only stepping inside once.
Now, we’re officially homeowners! We closed on Friday, April 17th, 2026, just two days before our 6.7 year anniversary. It’s been a fast, sometimes overwhelming but exciting process, and we’re so grateful to be stepping into this next chapter together. We’re looking forward to settling in, making it our own, and all the memories ahead. Cheers to what’s next!
